NEDSI 2023 in Washington DC Metro Area Conference Highlights:

Mr. Rhom Erskine, Keynote Speaker. Rhom Erskine is Vice President, Global Diversity & Inclusion at Lockheed Martin with specific responsibility for diversity and inclusion vision, strategic direction, employee engagement, and equal opportunity compliance for the enterprise and its 110,000+ employees.

Dr. John McIntyre will lead and moderate a panel on Centers for International Business Education and Research (CIBERs). Dr. McIntyre is the Executive Director of Georgia Tech CIBER. He is a Professor of Management at Scheller College of Business with a courtesy appointment in International Relations in the Georgia Tech’s Sam Nunn School of International Affairs. (About CIBERs: They were created by the US Congress in 1988 to increase and promote the nation’s capacity for international understanding and competitiveness. Currently, 15 CIBERs are located at 15 Universities in US).

Dr. Roberto Garcia will be conducting a pedagogy workshop on 03/31 at the conference. Dr. Garcia serves as Faculty Director for Indiana University’s Center for International Business Education and Research (IU-CIBER). He is the Young-Jin Kim Clinical Professor of International Business in the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.

Dr. K. Sivakumar (Siva) will lead a workshop titled “Effective Career Management: Balancing Focus and Variety for Research Impact” at the conference. Dr. Sivakumar is the Arthur Tauck Chair and Professor of Marketing at Lehigh University.


Airport Shuttle Service and Restaurants

The official conference hotel is Crystal Gateway Marriott, Arlington VA. There is a free shuttle bus service provided by the hotel from Ronald Reagan Washington National (DCA) airport.

Shuttle Bus Service:

  • Service starts at 5:00 am to 12:00 am (midnight, last trip departing from the hotel is at 11:30pm)
  • Service runs every 30 minutes AND OPERATES ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS rides are not guaranteed
  • Pick Up Terminal A at the lower level (Arrivals), Doors # 4 and # 7, and Pick Up Terminal B in the upper level (Departures)
  • Stand by the Hotel Shuttle Sign – (Watch carefully as the airport is under on-going construction)
  • Shuttle goes to Airport, Courtyard Hotel and Gateway Hotel.

We are pleased to invite you to the 2023 Northeast Decision Sciences Annual Meeting to be held on March 30 – April 1, 2023. The three-day conference will start on Thursday and continue through Saturday.

Full papers, abstracts, and workshops are invited for but not limited to the topic areas listed. Undergraduate/master students may submit proposals for Poster Sessions. Sessions involving practitioners will be given consideration.
Deadline for submissions: January 22, 2023
